COURSE LENGTH: 1⁄2 year (every day) or 1 year (every other day)
Attendance: Attendance is extremely important in order for students to stay abreast of information regarding material presented, test dates, in-class assignments, and homework assignments. The school’s attendance policy will be followed in its full capacity. It is the responsibility of the student to see the instructor about missed work and material. Tests will be made up as soon as reasonably possible(typically dependant on the amount of time missed) and at a time that is mutually agreed upon by teacher and student.
In-Class Work/Homework: All assignments must be done correctly, neatly, and submitted on time to receive full credit. Assignments are due at the beginning or end of the period when collected by the instructor. In-class work and homework can be turned in late, but will be docked ten points for each day late.
Projects: Students may be assigned a project during the semester or year. This project will relate to the concepts of health and students will be given ample time to complete it. Projects can be turned in late, but will be docked twenty points for each day late.
Final Exam: The final exam is based on information presented during the semester or year and counts 33%(1/2 year course, every day) or 20%(full year course, every other day) of the student’s final class average.

GRADING POLICY
In-Class Work = 50 points/each (10 points off each day late)
Homework = 50 points/each (10 points off each day late)
Exams = 50 – 150 points/each
Projects = 150 points/each (20 points off each day late)
Final Exam: = 33% Final Grade (1/2 year, every day) or = 20% Final Grade (1 year, every other day)
Grading System: There are a maximum number of points available per marking period and for the entire semester. A student’s grade is determined by the number of points they have earned over the total number of points available for that marking period or semester. For example: If there were 1,000 points available the first marking period and John Doe earned 820 points then his grade is an 82%(820 points earned / 1,000 points available).
Grade Availability: Grades will typically be available online(Powergrade) within five days of the assignment’s due date.

Exams:
Due to the vast amount of material covered in this class, there will be several exams given throughout the year. The exams are based on class lecture, notes, class discussions, in-class work, homework, and on the book. These exams count for a majority of your grade, and is the best way to gauge an individual’s grasp of the material presented and covered in class. Extra credit is given in the form of review sheets for every test and is due at the beginning of the period the day of the test. Additional extra credit opportunities will be offered throughout the school year. Late extra credit will not accepted, unless due to absence.
Mid-term and Final Exam:
The mid-term exam usually covers the first half of the year’s material and is given in class during the third marking period. Your grade on the mid-term exam is figured into your third marking period average. The final exam is given during final exam testing week and counts for 20% of your final class average.GRADING POLICY:
