Global Studies 10
Course Description:
The course began by reviewing topics the students have already covered in the 9th grade. This is done to insure the students have all the needed material required for the regents. Later we will explore the revolutions of the world, such as the Scientific, American, French, and Industrial Revolution's. Then, in chronological order, we will study the major historical events from the Louisiana Purchase to the tragedy of 9/11.

Grading Policy:
Homework - 20%
Test/Quizzes - 30%
Papers/Projects - 35%
Attendance/Class work/Class Participation - 15%

Homework Policy:
Homework will be given 3-4 times a week and the student will be responsible for the completion of this work the following day, unless stated otherwise. It is also important for the students to do quality work because these homework assignments will serve as another study guide and supplement the lesson at hand.

Late Work Policy:

I do take late work, such as projects and homework. For the homework’s, full credit is given 100 points, 1-2 days late is given 75 points, and 3+ days late is given 50 points. The projects lose around 3 overall points each day it is late. I will not take any back work after the Marking Period is competed however.

Test make-up
Students who miss tests are expected to take them ASAP. I will speak to each student who missed the test/quiz personally and find a time that fits his or her schedule. This is usually a study hall the following day or the next 10th period time slot.

Extra Credit:

I offer no extra credit in Global Studies.

Grading Time Frame:

All homework’s and tests are graded within 1 day after it is completed. Projects and papers, which take a little longer to grade, will be entered no later than 1 week after the due date.
