*It is that time of year
again…..Make sure to submit all college applications to your Guidance
Counselors so transcripts can be sent. This also allows your counselor to follow-up
on additional information that will need to be sent during the school year to
colleges that you may want to attend.
*Scholarship information is available in the Guidance Office unless otherwise
stated. Please be aware that deadline dates are FIRM. Many scholarships require
official transcripts and other additional information that only the counselors
can send. Any questions, please feel free to come in and ask!!
SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
- Available to students
who have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after
September 1,2006.
- One nominee will be
submitted for our school.
- Complete application
online at www.prudential.com/spirit
or www.principals.org/prudential
- Turn in copy of application
to the Guidance Office by October 31, 2007.

Coca-Cola Scholarships
- Eligibility requirements:
Must be a current high school senior attending school.
- U.S. citizen
- Applicant must be anticipating
completion of high school degree during the academic year which application
is made; carry a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of his/her junior year of high
school, and must be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary
institution.
- Applicants may not be
children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca-Cola bottling
companies, The Coca-Cola Company or any bottler or Company divisions or subsidiaries.
- Recipients are well-rounded
individuals with highly developed interests in their community. Applicants
are evaluated on the following: demonstrated leadership in school, commitment
to community, academic achievement and part-time employment.
- Scholarships are awarded
as follows: (50) awards are for $20,000, payable in equal installments over
a four-year period. The remaining (200) awards are for $10,000, also payable
over a four-year period.

SAE Engineering Scholarship Program
- Scholarships range
in value from $1000 to $10,000.
- To qualify, the applicant
must enroll in an engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board
for Engineering and Technology (ABET) at a university of the applicant’s
choice.
- Scholarships are paid
directly to the college or university.
- All applicants must:
be a high school senior at the date of application, intend to earn a degree
in engineering or a related science (examples: math, chemistry, physics, biology,
technologies, computer science), be a U.S. citizen, meet minimum requirements
with regard to grade point average, SAT Reasoning Test and/or ACT scores as
outlined in the individual requirements of each scholarship.

December 15, 2007:
AXA Achievement Scholarship
- Scholarships amounts
available: (52) $10,000 national scholarship; (10) $15,000 additional scholarships
to national recipients.
- Winners are students
who set and reach ambitious goals, demonstrate drive, determination and ability
to succeed in college and who have respect for self, family and community.

January 10, 2008 AT&T
and BBB Science & Technology Scholarship
- Open to all High School
Seniors who are interested in pursuing post secondary education.
- Students must reside
and attend a high school located in the 50 county Upstate NY service territory
and have a commitment to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Student must be interested
in pursuing a degree in the fields of technology and/or science.
- Applicants are evaluated
on their academic achievement, involvement in the community and letter of
recommendation as well as on the merits of an essay in which they describe
what influences have inspired their interests in pursuing a career in technology
and or science.

The Student of
Integrity Award by the Better Business Bureau
- Open to high school
seniors who are interested in pursuing post secondary education.
- The student must reside
and attend a high school located in Upstate NY service territory
- Must plan to attend
an accredited college or university in the Fall of 20080.
- Two $1000 scholarships
will be awarded.
- Application is available
online at www.upstateny.bbb.org or copies will be available in the Guidance
Office.

with questions.February 15, 2008 Burger King Scholars Program.
- Awards are $1000 each
(up to 700 scholarships available) to be used for educational expenses, such
as tuition fees and books during the first year of college or post-secondary
vocational/technical school.
- Eligibility: must be
a high school senior and a U.S. resident; maintain a cumulative 2.5 or higher
GPA; work part-time an average of 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year; be
actively involved in community service activities; demonstrate financial need;
plan to enroll in an accredited two/or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical
school by Fall of the application year.

Elks National Foundaton Most Valuable Scholarship
- Elks National Foundation
2008 Most Valuable Student Scholarship.
- High School Senior
- Applications judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
- Elks Legacy Awards
- Any child or grandchild of a living Elk who joined the order on or before
April 1, 2005.
- Must be a high school senior.
