Mock Crash Scene

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As you are well aware, our community has seen a number of tragic events involving automobiles.   These events have been the result of distracted driving, impaired drivers and poor weather conditions.   A member of our local fire department brought this issue to my attention and offered to prepare an assembly for our students.

A Mock Crash scene will take place in front of the high school on Friday, May 17 starting at 1:30p.m. The crash scene will be facilitated by local fire, police, rescue squads and businesses who serve the communities that comprise our School District.   There is also a possibility of the LifeFlight helicopter either landing or flying over the building during the staged scene. We believe this will be a valuable experience for all of our students especially with our own Prom being held on May 18th.

We also realize, for some of our students, this might be traumatic due to losing friends or family members to similar events.   Our counselors will always be available for any student who needs support and if you have the desire for your son/daughter not to attend the assembly, please let our office know and your child will spend this time in another location.

Thank you for all of your patience and understanding.  If you have any questions, please call my office at 518-585-7400 ext. 1412.

Thanks again,

John W. Donohue

High School Principal
