Backpack Program

Dear Parent / Guardian:

You may have heard something about the BackPack Program, but you are unsure as to just how it works. The Ticonderoga Area BackPack Program is providing additional nutrition assistance to local students at a time when other resources may not be available, on weekends. Free and reduced-price breakfasts and lunches are now available at school Monday to Friday, but not on weekends.

The Backpack Program provides weekend backpacks filled with nutritious, child-friendly foods for each weekend during the school year from late September through to early June, exclusive of breaks and holidays. This nutrition program is offered free-of-charge to children from income-eligible families who may need a little help. If your children qualified for free & reduced lunches at school, then you may also qualify for the Backpack Program

This is not a government program. This community service is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ticonderoga and all of the food and supplies are paid for by donations from individuals, businesses, foundations, and the United Way.

If you would like to receive more information or ask questions about the BackPack Program, please contact Joanne Bartlett, John Bartlett or Guidance Counselor, Samantha Wells. Their contact information is listed below.
